Qashqai

A good old Qashqai rug with some age. I love everything about this rug but for some reason my eye is drawn to the large rosette, I think maybe it is the way its rounded form is seen amongst the angular stepped diamonds and tree of life motifs. It has enough wear to show a well articulated design which it benefits from. The central field is flanked by a lion at one end and a camel at the other both beautifully drawn. Some rugs catch my eye the first time I see them and this certainly falls into that category. A really great little rug with lots of interest and certainly a 19th Century date.

Condition: Low pile and a few minor repairs to old moth damage.
