Afshar

The allover lattice on this rug appears to extend below the borders and gives one a sense of the infinite field, one of my favourite designs on any rug. This is a typical Afshar with some lovely colours and soft wool. The palette is quite soft and the colours are blend well, the dark and light blues are particularly pleasing tones. The white diamond is the focus of attention and balances the darker tones well. A soft tribal rug with a great look.

Date: Early 20th C
Condition: Good with a little low pile in the centre. One end has an old repair and a some loss. As ever all wool foundation means it is slightly wonky and has the odd bump.
