Fine Silk-Warped Senneh Rug

This fine silk-warped Senneh rug is a joy to both look at and to handle. The wool is soft and velvety, while silk foundation gives the rug a fabric-like handle, folding like a textile. Amazing! The classic Herati design is intricately, but crisply drawn. Outstanding is the honey yellow background colour of the field. Note the jewel-like sapphire spandrels and the lovely palmette border which frames the composition perfectly. The colours are so subtle and harmonious that one can image this fine Persian rug enhancing many decorative settings.
