Antique Bakhshaish Runner

A long runner woven in the Bakhshaish district, with a column of stepped medallions on a madder red field framed by an ivory border of reciprocal trefoils. The wool is lustrous and the natural dyes have mellowed evenly, giving soft shifts of abrash across the field.
