Andy Lloyd will be exhibiting these two pieces at LARTA this year...

On the left is a Qashqai wagireh (which is a small sample rug or cartoon containing all the design elements needed to make a larger rug) late 19C measures 39 x 45 cm excellent condition. Wagirehs are unusual for the nomadic Qashqais of south Persia. The item on the right is a Tekke (Turkmen tribe) embroidered Chirpy (coat) from the early 19C. Silk on silk ground in excellent condition. Yellow chirpys were made exclusively for older women of high status amongst these Russian Turkmen tribes.

The Showroom is a new arts venue about half a mile north of Marble Arch, 100 yards from Edgware Road. Penfold St is only a five minute walk away from Edgware Road tube station which is serviced by the Hammersmith and City, Circle and Bakerloo lines. Numerous buses from central London stop nearby including the 6, 16, 98, 332 and 414.

Car access is convenient. Numerous pay and display meters are available in the area as well a large NCP car park about five minutes walk away.

The Showroom is located in the exciting Marylebone area which is serviced by excellent restaurants and bars. In addition Marylebone Church St is a one minute walk away, the location of the famous Alfies Antiques market as well as many specialist antique shops and galleries.
